Hello! I’m Yaiza.

I’m the blogger behind Rubyfruit Reads. I’m also a lover of black clothes, stories about the ocean, and unusual drinks. I’m Italian, grew up in Germany and Spain, and later studied in the UK. Now I work as a writer for an interior design magazine in Singapore, where I can usually be found splurging on fruit juice.

What is Rubyfruit Reads, you ask?

Rubyfruit Reads is based on one of my all-time favourite books, Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown. I picked this name because I love the book, I love queer literature in general, and I love all things fruity and juicy. Hence, you will find plenty of book recommendations and reviews, alongside some themed ‘specials’ named after fruits and drinks, such as Backlist Bananas. Stay tuned to find out more!

Want to send me review copies?

If you’d like me to review your book, send the blurb and some reasons why you think I should read it to yaizacanopoli@gmail.com. I particularly enjoy queer and diverse literature, adult fiction, fantasy, memoirs, translated books and socialist non-fiction. Please don’t send me books that advocate for capitalism or respectability politics.
